MyKuya Partners as Frontliners

One persistent challenge for Filipinos is unemployment, so imagine the struggles that the working men and women had to face when the quarantine measures were set in place. Those who trusted that their regular jobs would be able to get them through felt devastated when companies and small businesses had to cut costs by dismissing their loyal employees.

In light of this, I joined the team that processed thousands of Partner applications at the start of the pandemic and I remember getting emotional, sometimes catching myself tearing up when watching their application videos. Many of them explained how they had to get laid off and just needed to make ends meet in order to bring food to the table.

I am reminded that each day is an opportunity and that it is a blessing to be working in MyKuya alongside such talented, hard-working people. We are on a crazy mission to create jobs because we understand and know that Filipinos are willing to work hard, they just need the opportunity to do so — and the best part is, everyone can join us on this journey.

Now, dear reader, I invite you to take a look at your own network and community, how each household is able to receive essentials, food and purchases because of people like Kuya Erwin, Kuya Jomar, Kuya Harly, and Ate Jo-An.

Honest, reliable, and efficient — these are the attributes of the Star Partners we want to shine a light to and acknowledge them as frontliners as they are. They travel far and wide on a daily basis to get you what you need. No complaints from them, just smiles and gratitude to be of service to us.

We have to appreciate that we have them around. Because now more than ever, it is clear that we are dependent on one another, we need each other to survive and thrive.

So the next time you book with MyKuya, please don’t forget to give your Partner a sincere “Thank you” for the work that they do, and know that with every booking, you are making a difference in their lives.
